I just sat down and had a good chat with a friend about Love. Twice. In one day. Same Friend. The first time it was me asking her for advice. What do you do when you like someone, but aren’t sure what they are feeling. The simple answer she gave me? Ask them! It doesn’t need to be a huge thing, but in a simple and straightforward way, ask them what they think about your relationship. A small group therapy session ensued, but the general consensus was this: Ask them.
Later that night she then approached me about her situation. Ironically, I had the exact same thing to say in return. Just ask him.
Both situations of Love were completely different. Mine was simple and without lots of pressure, while my friends was coming right as she was about to move away and continue her life after waiting and wanting for almost a year from this guy. “WHY DO BOYS HAVE HORRIBLE TIMING?” She asks.
It’s true, we do suck at timing. However, I have a hunch that Love comes like a Tornado. When the right combination of weather combines at the right moment, it becomes of force of tremendous power. Everything is stripped away and only the bare essentials of human love is what remains. All previous plans, thoughts or ideas are carried off like nothing. Love swoops into our lives and sucks us up and carries us off to a new land, a new adventure. I guess that is what makes it so great. It changes our lives, and when we do it all for someone dear to us, it means we really care about that person. And what do we want as humans but to be cared for? Not much else.
